Simple and effective update to your network

Wireless mesh networks are all the rage to extend your network but are they REALLY 100% secure? MOCA lets you use the coax your home likely has in every room for a hard-wired connection for that extra layer of physical security. Simple to set up, no software to configure. Highly recommend.

Works great, simple to install

Wanted a better Wi-Fi option on 2nd floor. I’ve used wireless (plug-in) extenders. But wanted to install a wired WAP but didn’t want to fish wires thru walls. Then I read about using existing coax already wired thru house. Purchased this Motorola MoCA adapter and was able to then add an access point to my 2nd floor and I now have great Wi-Fi signal upstairs plus I have optional Ethernet ports. Definitely recommend.

Works, but don't forget to press the MPS button

This would have been a really smooth install, except for the fact that the green LINK light wouldn't light up, meaning that the adapters weren't connecting and communicating with one another. As best I can tell, it was because there was security/encryption that was preventing them from connecting until I pressed the MPS (MoCA Protected Setup) button on each adapter. The instructions didn't say to do this anywhere, and though the quick start guide says to see the online documentation for an explanation of what the MPS button was, I could find it nowhere online (from Motorola anyway). Apparently pressing this buttons causes the security key or password to be shared between adapters so they can communicate. After that, everything worked great. I'm getting as fast speeds as my ISP and home network can deliver (120 Mbps).

It just works great!

It just works great for me with encryption, without lag and dropouts up to 3GBps with my setup. I'm very pleased with the technology and the product, because they save me running a lot of cables trough the walls and perform excellent even with a cheaper coax cable and connectors and 1GHz splitters and taps!
