KitchenAid is the best.

Well, I love it. Just like everyone else loves their own KitchenAid. I had an old KitchenAid model from the 60's that I gave to my daughter. It still worked 100% and she will enjoy hers for years to come. But then I had none....no other brand made me happy. So I ended up buying a new KitchenAid, blue and so pretty. And my hubby is happy because I'm back to baking again. This model has a huge bowl so I don't have the spillage I used to get when the beater was throwing clumps of flour and butter outside the bowl....lol. And it starts slow so I don't get any panicky to shut it down quickly. I just love it.

Super powerful mixer

I love my KitchenAid. I've had this mixer for about 2 1/2 years. I've made breads, cakes, and frosting with it. It's a beast in my kitchen. I've made 8 loaves of yeast bread back to back and it did just fine. Some say it's loud but it's a powerful mixer so it if going to have some noise. It is very sturdy and does not move when mixing heavy recipes. So many people said to get the tilt head but they were smaller and I read reviews that said there were plastic in the gears so they wouldn't last as long. Plus the tilt head mixers are smaller. I love the bowl lift and lower feature because it makes scraping down the sides of the bowl so easy. I hope to add another to my kitchen in the future so I can do simultaneous mixing. Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants a long lasting and powerful stand mixer.

Great Machine!!!

(I waited to write this review to be sure of my purchase)...

After reading many reviews, both negative and positive I took the plunge and bought my Kitchen Aid and I am very happy with it. It came in a sturdy package with not bumps or bruises to the box. I unpacked it and made bread the very same day, it handled the kneeding the dough with out complaint. I only make one loaf at a time (it does take 8 cups of flour though.) So far I've made probably 20 loaves of various types, several cakes and multiple batches of cookies all without issue. I absolutley love it. Time will tell if there are longevity issues but I took an extended warantee just in case.

The thing is a beast! Biggest bang for the buck around!

What a fantastic product. I did some research and compare models and this was the one I settled on and I'm so glad I did. This thing is a beast! I make lots of heavy, thick oatmeal rasin cookie batter from scratch and its and arm buster to do by hand. I couldn't use my hand mixer because the batter is simply to heavy. It simply didn't have the torque so I always made them by hand. As soon as I got this I made a double batch and this monster powered through it like it was NOTHING! I'm amazed. It saved me so much time and effort and the batter was mixed so much better than I could do by hand. The cookies are better. I've since made toll house, peanut butter and sugar cookies all with ease. Next I am going to make some bread and pizza dough. This is one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time. The nice thing about the stand mixer vs the tilt head is I can park this right under my upper cabinets (fits with a few inches to spare) and it never has to move to be used. I don't have to pull it away from the wall to tilt the head. The only negative is I have a hard time attaching the bowl. I know it's me and with a little more practice it will be easier!

Don't hesitate. If you're going to bake regularly and you need a good stand mixer get this one. Biggest band for the buck by miles.

Achieved lifelong dream

Professional Grade mixer has all metal internals and inherently stronger bowl-lift (as compared to hinging top of the amateur grade mixers).

Mechanically this is far superior to the Artisan model. It is also cheaper than the Artisan usually, because the Artisan is more about fashion (available in many colors) than about the actual business of cooking. Given that many people buy these simply as decorations for their designer kitchens, that makes sense on KitchenAid's part. For those of you who actually do cook though, this a better buy and second only to the 6 quart pro models that have more power.
