I have installed 30 of these so far. I love the mounting kit that comes with it- easy to attached to ceiling grids, quick release metal base ring for service. The user interface is nice, installed the Linux-based package in a virtual machine on one of our Linux servers (and the AP's continue to run/work even if that goes down, which is great). The signal is strong. It can handle lots of clients at the same time. Well designed and packaged. Good value for what seems to be one of the best in category for covering large areas with WiFi. We set up 4 SSID's in no time, one of them being public/guest with network isolation AND throttling (very nice). Can even restrict which SSID's are on which access points and ban or throttle certain clients. Lots of centralized control and data collection/insights. So far, very happy.
I have over 50 devices running off this one AP and still am getting speeds over 500Mbs with lag.
I have been searching for a while for a replacement for my Apple wifi router. They were fantastic product which just work and theses seem to be the same. I cannot be happier. I have them wired to a Dream Machine Pro and though I am a home user these are wonderful. I have 2 to span my ranch home and no more issues. I basically just plugged all it (with some config on their app) and they work really well. I have not tried to use their support as I did not really need them…
I am a fan of Ubiquiti and use a lot of their products. I think they work great and are easily configured with the unifi ap. Great for beginners to learn about advanced networking, easy for advanced users to learn/adapt from previous vendors.
Get this access point, NOT the long range! This AP uses a Qualcomm chip. The LR uses mediatek. Qualcomm is the best chipset for WiFi! I was using 2 high end Asus routers, but my WiFi was still having issues. But ever since I got this unifi AP, my WiFi has been ROCK SOLID!
